Get Ready to Roll at the Museum's Summer Traveling Exhibit

Get ready to roll this summer with a new hands-on exhibit featuring physics fun at The Health Adventure, Asheville s Family Health & Science Museum .

Kids of all ages will have a ball starting June 9 as The Health Adventure celebrates the grand opening of Raceways, an enticing and interactive exploration of the science of motion.

Send golf balls looping, racing, spinning and zinging over ramps, on tracks and through chutes to have fun with physics. Each exhibit area offers guests a chance to experiment with energy, friction, momentum, gravity, acceleration, distance and velocity.

Six simple games and unique interactive stations will challenge skill and judgment through scientific experimentation. Each exhibit area includes fun science facts in both English and Spanish and provides families with a unique opportunity to learn about basic principles of objects in motion as formulated by Newton and Galileo. Guests are invited to get ready to roll and:

  • Get loopy with The Roller Coaster, an exhibit area that challenges guests to guess how many hills their golf ball can climb, proving there is more to an amusement ride than just a hoop and a holler.

  • Ramp up the fun with The Big U, an exhibit that will appeal to skateboarding fans, to learn about friction, energy, and momentum.

Other activities include Hit the Bucket, Loop the Loop, Ski Jump, and The Spiral. Raceways will be featured through September 10. Major funding for Raceways has been provided by Eaton Corporation. For more information, call (828) 254-6373 or visit www.thehealthadventure.org.
