START YOUR NEW YEAR’S EVE AT THE HEALTH ADVENTURE ASHEVILLE – Get your New Year’s Eve off to a fun start at The Health Adventure. The Health Adventure will kick off a yearlong celebration of its 40th birthday with a family-friendly afternoon on December 31 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Taking a cue from the decade The Health Adventure was born, the party will include retro inspired activities from the Sixties. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite rock star or band from the Age of Aquarius, and prize packages will be awarded for the best costumes. Families will have fun with science during two special demonstrations: At “The Grateful Dead Zone,” children will learn about bones and their importance in the human body. The science of flight will be explored in “Jefferson Airplane.” “Our goal for this event is to provide a fun, safe alternative for families this New Year’s while celebrating a milestone for the museum,” said Paige Johnson, President & CEO. “For 40 years, The Health Adventure has educated and entertained the children and families of our community. And for 40 years, the success of the museum has been due to the generous support of individuals and businesses in western North Carolina.” Guests will also enjoy nutritious snacks and have the opportunity to set healthy living resolutions for the New Year. Admission is free for members and $10 per family for non-members. The Health Adventure is a nonprofit family health and science attraction for today’s families with a mission to improve health awareness, promote wellness lifestyles, and increase science literacy through programs and exhibits.
