THE HEALTH ADVENTURE’S HOME-SCHOOL HAPPENINGS PROGRAM PROVIDES HANDS-ON FUN WITH SCIENCE, HEALTH AND SAFETY

ASHEVILLE – The Health Adventure has offered hands-on fun with learning for almost 40 years, and its Home School Happenings program is in full swing this spring. The Health Adventure has long been regarded as a popular field trip destination for school groups around the region. Educators wanted to provide that same interactive and educational experience to students who are home-schooled, resulting in the museum’s popular Home-School Happenings series.

Home-School Happenings offers innovative educational programs to students learning at the kindergarten through eighth-grade level. Classes are held on the second Wednesday of every month at 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. throughout the school year and explore topics such as safety, math, the science of energy and motion, substance abuse, and nutrition.

Classes are only $5.50 per child, which includes unlimited museum exploration after class. Parents and caregivers are admitted free. Advance payment secures your reservation for Home-School Happenings. Call (828) 254-6373, Ext. 329 to register and prepay. For more information, visit www.thehealthadventure.org

The Health Adventure, founded in 1968, is a health and science attraction for children and today’s families, dedicated to improving health awareness, promoting wellness lifestyles, and increasing science literacy through programs and exhibits.
