Program Description: The Health Adventure offers on-site educational programs to school groups throughout the academic year. Programs vary in length from a half hour to ninety minutes and involve direct interaction with our visitors.
Internship Duties: Interns are needed to teach several of our most popular programs. Exact programs will vary depending on the time of year and scheduling. Interns will need to learn program materials, observe educators teaching the programs, and deliver the programs to our visiting school groups.
Programs are offered Monday through Friday.
Internship Goals: This internship seeks to provide health and science teaching experience through direct involvement with our visitors that will further the career goals of all interns. Interns will gain experience in museum programming, teaching, and visitor supervision.
Time: Interns are needed throughout the academic year. The weekly time commitment is flexible but must conform to our program schedule. Interns should be able to provide 5 hours of service or more per week. Schedules will be arranged on an individual basis.
Requirements: We are looking for interns with experience in education and public speaking who are willing to commit to a regular schedule and who are comfortable working with children in an educational environment. Previous teaching experience a plus.
