December 11th & February 12th from 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Come and explore the museum at a reduced rate! Meet other Girl Scouts as you have fun at the museum. This event is for Girl Scouts of any age. Cost: $4.50/girl, free for adult volunteers.
Juniors Spooky Science Day!
October 25th from 10:00AM – 2:30 PM
Experience spooky science with us! Put Gertrude’s life-sized skeleton back together. Find mice skeletons in owl pellets. Concoct ghost slime. Watch as chemicals are mixed to produce eerie fog and glowing liquids! Event includes museum exploration. Cost: $ 7/girl, free for adult volunteers.

Junior Badge Days
Cost is $7/Junior (Adult volunteers are free); Cost includes the badge, which the program meets. Badge Days occur from 3:30 to 6:00 PM and include 30 minutes of museum exploration with a two hour program.
November 20th: Science Discovery
Calling all scientists! We need your creative powers to design experiments. Can you make water disappear? Can you trick your eyes to see something that is not there? Can you stop a rolling ball with a paper plate and toothpick?
January 29th: Science Sleuth
Use your best detective skills to solve some Health Adventure mysteries. Can you figure out why some dogs have floppy ears? Can you make colors appear using only black ink and white paper? Can you guess what your DNA looks like?
March 26th: Incredible Insects (Black Diamond Council Badge)
So what exactly is an insect? What is it like to live a “bug’s life”? Learn about insect biology (entomology) by singing songs, playing games, and observing live insects, up close and personal. Create your own insect creature!
April 23rd: Making it Matter
Come be a scientist of every kind at this workshop! Become a chemist by making slime and identifying mystery substances. Become an electrical engineer by rigging up a real circuit! Become a rocket scientist by launching rockets into the air.
Brownie Try-It Days
Cost is $5/Brownie (Adult volunteers are free); Cost includes the Try-It, which the program meets. Try-It Days occur from 3:30 to 6:00 PM and include an hour and 15 minutes of museum exploration and an hour and 15 minute program.
November 6th: Science Wonders
Come be a mad scientist with us! Use ordinary milk to make extraordinary colors. Capture “dry-ice fog” inside bubbles! Launch rockets using Alka-Seltzer and water!
January 15th: My Body
What better place to learn about your body than The Health Adventure! Come see a 600 year old skull, and use life-sized bones to build a human skeleton. Learn neat tricks you can do with your body. Experience what the phrase “the room is spinning” really means in our dizzy tunnel!
March 12th: Bugs (VA Skyline Try-It)
So what exactly is an insect? What is it like to live a “bug’s life”? Learn about insect biology (entomology) by singing songs, playing games, and observing live insects, up close and personal.
April 9th: Science in Action
Learn about science in crazy ways! Make a weird substance that is both a solid and a liquid! Blow up a balloon without using your breath! Watch a light show and decode secret messages with color filters!
