(828) 254-6373, Ext. 308 michaelo@thehealthadventure.org THE HEALTH ADVENTURE’S ANNUAL FALL FUNDRAISER, DESTINATIONS OF ADVENTURE, WAS A CELEBRATION TO REMEMBER ASHEVILLE – The Health Adventure, Asheville’s Family Health & Science Attraction, is pleased to announce the success of its eighth annual Fall Gala, Destinations of Adventure: A Celebration to Remember, that was held October 13 at Dove Air, Inc. – a private aircraft hangar. The event was attended by over 250 supporters of The Health Adventure who enjoyed live music by Orange Krush, wonderful fresh local flavors prepared by 28806 Deli, and incredible auction packages during the evening's live and silent auctions. During the evening’s auctions, more than $61,000.00 was raised to help support the work of The Health Adventure. These funds will help to provide interactive and engaging health and science exhibits and programs for the children and families of western North Carolina. In addition to the funds raised during the live and silent auctions, auctioneer Matt Holiday of Holiday Auction and Realty called on the attendees to help raise an additional $10,000 for an exhibit called Construction Junction that The Health Adventure is designing and planning in conjunction with Jesse Paden of Exhibitecture. The exhibit will be a construction-themed exhibit using simple machines and items such as piping, blocks, balls, and air thrusters to teach children about construction and the way these items are used in conjunction to build structures. With the help of The Health Adventure’s staff and the wonderful contributions of many of the attendees, Mr. Holiday secured $10,000 for The Health Adventure and its new exhibit. In total, more than $71,000 was raised during this event.
