The Health Adventure began as a teaching center in 1968 and has continued its emphasis on experiential education to this day. Professional science and health educators teach every one of our classes! Our educators come from a variety of backgrounds: microbiology, early childhood, professional music - but they all share the philosophy of teaching as a performance art. Check our Events Calendar for more information on times, offerings and upcoming events.

AFTERNOON EXPLORERS: presented by Charlotte Street Computers
Afternoon Explorers is a program offered by The Health Adventure to groups that work with children who are considered financially, academically, or emotionally “at risk”.  These are children whose parents or caregivers may be unable to expose them to enrichment activities such as our museum offers. READ MORE for more information or to be a part of the Afternoon Explorers program.
GIRLSCOUTS:
The Health Adventure offers a variety of workshops for both Juniors and Brownies. Download the brochures for both Juniors and Brownies for our 2009-2010 offerings. HOMESCHOOL HAPPENINGS:
The Health Adventure has long been regarded as a popular field trip destination for school groups around the region. Educators wanted to provide that same interactive and educational experience to students who are home-schooled, resulting in the museum's popular Homeschool Happenings program, which offers innovative educational programs to students aged 5-10. MY MOM IS HAVING A BABY:
A special program to help older children understand, accept, and anticipate the changes that will happen as the family prepares for the birth of the new baby. The My Mom is Having a Baby program happens every 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month. Check our calendar for dates and possible changes.

On the second Wednesday of every month, join us from 4PM until 5PM to learn new folds, share favorites, and meet fellow origami enthusiasts. All levels welcome. You can become a regular "Four O'Clock Folder" at The Health Adventure. Paper is available at our museum store or you can bring your own. The cost is the price of admission into the Health Adventure. Free for members or with museum admission, the Preschool Play Date series is held at The Health Adventure’s Creative Play Space, an enclosed and safe discovery zone for children ages three to five.
