Rising 1st and 2nd Grade Camps
COST: $100 for members, $110 for nonmembers
TIME: 9:00am-12:30pm

Sounds Like Fun
Session 1: June 21st-25th
Session 2: June 28th-July 2nd
Join us for some good vibrations as we learn about the science of sound. Experiment with a variety of noise-making materials, from spoons and coat hangers to screaming balloons. Play echolocation and sound identification games, discover what sound energy can do, and enjoy a daily musical moment. Be ready to giggle, sing, and generally make a joyful noise.

Science Shenanigans
Session 1: July 26th-30th
Session 2: August 2nd-6th
This camp encourages all kinds of craziness in the name of science! Try out an anti-gravity trick, solve the mystery of the missing snack, and even make elephant toothpaste. Experience the joys of scientific discovery as we go from one exploration to another.

Rising 3rd and 4th Grade Camps
COST: $150 for members, $160 for nonmembers
TIME: 9:00am-3:00pm
*After-Camp Care is available from 3:00pm - 5:00pm for $5 per camper per day

The Art of Science
Session 1: June 21st-25th
Session 2: June 28th-July 2nd
Discover the amazing ways that science and art join forces. Play with light and color, search for patterns in nature, and experiment with natural pigments. Lots of art!  Lots of science!  Lots of hands-on fun!

Pack Place Potpourri
July 5th-9th (One session only)
*Please Note: This camp is $200 per camper and is held from 9:00am-5:00pm
Spend the week sampling the greatest hits of Pack Place. Campers will visit three museums each day. Make eruptions and explosions at The Health Adventure. Mine for gems, hunt for fossils, blast off into space, and explore dinosaurs at the Colburn Earth Science Museum. Draw, paint, sculpt, and more at the Asheville Art Museum. It’s a Pack Place world of fun!  

BioExplorers
Session 1: July 26th-30th
Session 2: August 2nd-6th
Are you fascinated with all living things? In this camp, we’ll investigate that fuzzy stuff that grows on old bread and create a working ecosystem for your room. We will explore many branches of biology, including one you may never have heard of, crypotozoology. Big Foot, anyone?

Rising 5th and 6th Grade Camps

The Science of Super Heroes
Session 1: June 21st-25th
Session 2: June 28th-July 2nd
Super Hero movies make for great entertainment, but have you ever wondered how far from reality those stories might be? Manipulate the forces of nature, create robots to do your bidding, and spend a day discovering the many wonders of flight! The Science of Super Heroes provides super hero lessons for non-super powered heroes.

Earth Adventure Camp
Session 1: July 26th-30th
Session 2: August 2nd-6th
Come on a scientific adventure from the tops of the trees to the depths of the oceans. Discover the amazing things that make our planet the only livable one in our Solar System.  Become an animal track expert, a food chain champion, and a wild weather wiz through awesome experiments, games, and crafts.  This camp will really make you appreciate and want to protect our planet.

Rising 7th and 8th Grade Camps
COST: $200 for members, $210 for nonmembers
TIME: 9:00am-5:00pm

Girls Quest
July 12th – 16th (One session only)
Calling all female scientists! Learn what it’s like to be a scientist in the real world! Tour Mission Hospital to discover the world of microbiology. Build a robot, test water in a local stream, and visit an animal hospital to explore veterinary science. Each day will combine lab experiments at The Health Adventure with field trips to visit female scientists at work in our community.

Boys Quest
July 5th - 9th (One session only)
Calling all male scientists! Have you ever thought about the physics involved in hitting a 90 mph curve ball?  Or the impact a football helmet can take before breaking?  Come unlock the mysteries behind the science of sports. We’ll be experimenting with a wide range of sports in the laboratory and on the field at this active week of camp. 

Family Robotics Workshops: Rising 4th - Adult
COST: $20 per person for members, $25 per person for nonmembers
TIME: 10:00am-3:00pm
SESSION 1: July 20th
SESSION 2: July 21st
Kids: bring an adult. Adults: bring your kids. In this workshop, you get to work together. Discover the exciting world of robotics as you work as a family team to build and operate a robot. Design, test, and redesign your robot to accomplish tasks and meet challenges. Make your robot lift and carry objects, navigate obstacle courses, and maneuver up steep ramps. Build, play, and explore – kids, grown-ups, and robots together!   

The Fine Print
Please Keep This Information For Your Reference

**New! After-Camp Care: The Health Adventure will offer After-Camp Care from 3:00pm - 5:00pm for specified camps. The cost is $5 per day per camper and is nonrefundable. Please let us know on the first day of each session which days your child will be attending After-Camp Care.

Confirmations: A written confirmation will be sent to you upon receipt of the registration form and camp payment. Enrollment is confirmed in the order in which payments are received. The cancellation deadline is 10 business days prior to the start date of each camp session.  If you cancel before the deadline, there is a non-refundable $20 processing fee.  If you cancel after the deadline, there is a $40 processing fee. If you cancel after 4 p.m. on the Friday prior to camp, your money will not be refunded. Please note there is a $20 fee for returned checks.

The Health Adventure reserves the right to cancel any camps due to insufficient registration.  If a camp session is cancelled, registered campers will receive a full refund.  The Health Adventure also reserves the right to cancel enrollment at anytime (at no refund) of campers with repeated behavioral problems that disrupt camp for others.

Scholarships: Need-based financial assistance is available for all camps except Pack Place Potpourri and the Family Robotics Workshop.  Call 254-6373, ext 316 for a scholarship application form.  Scholarship applications must be postmarked by Monday, May 17th.  Please attach the scholarship application to your camp registration and enclose a $10 deposit per camp session.  Full and partial awards will be announced May 28th and invoices will be sent for any remaining fees due.
