Now Open at The Health Adventure: Get the Message

From an arched eyebrow to the front-page news, people use a variety of tools to communicate. Our new exhibit, Get the Message, explores the science behind communication.

We use many different forms of communication in our everyday lives. From the subtitles of speech to signs and symbols, sending and receiving information from the world around us is second nature. You and your family can play and experiment with all the different ways you “get the message” in this exhibit. Tell a story by building your own totem pole, or try your hand at virtual cave art. Puzzle over expressions, create a coat of arms, or send a message in Morse code. There’s so much to do you’ll want to come back again and again!

Get the Message was designed through a collaboration of Discovery Center Museum of Rockford, Illinois and the Family Museum of Arts and Sciences of Bettendorf, Iowa and supported by the National Science Foundation. The exhibition will be on display at The Health Adventure through May 25.
