A special e-newsletter for our
volunteers

Greetings and Salutations!
Happy almost spring, volunteers! Here at The
Health Adventure it's Dental Month, and our educators have been flying
around the museum teaching hundreds of children about the importance of
dental health. This year's theme is "Flossed in Space." Our
young astronauts take a journey on the starship Dentalprise to the Plaque
planet where they seek to stop the impending invasion of our mouths by the
plaque aliens. It's amazing to see how far a little black light and a
child's imagination can take you!
Our current traveling
exhibit, "Little Builders" has also been a huge success. The
exhibit is always packed with guests exploring, hammering, building, and
moving. Come by and see it if you haven't had a chance!
We're
also getting excited about our upcoming summer exhibit, "The Magic
School Bus Kicks Up a Storm." Opening at the end of May, this
exhibit promises to be another blockbuster for all ages!
Planning is also well underway for this year's summer camps. Our GIRLS
Quest camp is already down to 4 empty slots! This year's campers will
explore everything from animals to toys and ooey gooey things. We'll also
need some great volunteers and interns to help us make this camp a grand
success. If you or anyone you know might be interested in working with
this summer's camps, please let me know!
We also have a brand
new volunteer brochure! The next time you're in the museum, take a look
at our new tri-fold--it's beautiful!
In personal news, I'm
looking ahead to March, which is an Irish dancer's dream month... We
already have a performance the weekend before St. Patrick's Day, one the
night before, and at least two on St. Patrick's day itself. I think I'll
be tired by Sunday!
I hope this newsletter finds you and yours
doing wellandenjoying this beautiful warm spell (however brief it may
be...). I look forward to seeing you around the museum soon!
