The Asheville Project and    
Beyond: A New Generation
of Health and Wellness
Initiatives
 January 14th to
16th, $185 early registration.  
The
original Asheville Project began in
1997 and involved direct patient
care provided by pharmacists to
improve health care outcomes for
diabetes. The Project has
expanded greatly over the years and
is now being replicated in a variety
of communities around the US.  
This conference will enable health
care professionals, employers,
health and wellness groups and
community leaders to learn more
about developing collaborative care
models for treating and preventing
chronic illness.

 The Latino
Health Promotion Partnership recently
released a report on local services and
health needs of Latino youth and families
in the Asheville area.  The report details
finding from hundreds of community
members, agencies, and health care
providers.  See especially pages 25-29 for
