TEAMS Collaborative

The TEAMS Collaborative was formed in 1995 to help small science museums build their capacity for designing and fabricating high quality exhibitions and to increase the national inventory of interactive science exhibitions available for touring to small and medium sized venues. From its inception, TEAMS was generously supported by the National Science Foundation. While its exhibit products continue to circulate nationally and informal collaborative activities continues among various of the partners, TEAMS celebrated the culmination of its work on September 30, 2008.

  • Montshire Museum of Science, Norwich, VT
  • Rochester Museum & Science Center, Rochester, NY
  • Sciencenter, Ithaca, NY
  • The Health Adventure, Ashville, NC

In addition, the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Ann Arbor, MI was a participant through 1999.

Montshire Museum of Science served as grant recipient and grant manager and Montshire Director, David Goudy was the project P.I. Charles Trautmann, Executive Director of Sciencenter and a project co-P.I. served as the TEAMS Collaborative president. Sarah Wolf, Director of Discovery Center Museum served as the TEAMS Vice-President and Mark Sinclair, Director of Catawba Science Center served as Secretary.

Products and related materials:

  • Thirteen different traveling exhibitions were produced, some with multiple copies, for a total of 22 exhibitions totalling 33,000 square feet. They circulated first among the TEAMS museums and then through ASTC's Traveling Exhibition Service or the Sciencenter's Exhibition Services.
